The New Popular Pet for Kids Are Rats?

People Magazine is reporting a story that was pretty shocking to me that kids aren't into dogs or cats anymore because they're all about rats. The study on this was done by Right Pet who surveyed almost 17,000 people and the results were surprising to say the least. By a large percentage children between 10-17 years old preferred rats over cats and dogs.

However it seemed once children became adults they moved on from rats to liking cats and dogs. The people from Right Pet believe the rats are popular with kids due to the fact that they're easy to take care of, smart and easy to train. I don't see many parents rushing out to buy their kids rats but don't be surprised if you find that they've been hiding one in their room.
