The next 'American Idol' winner could quite possibly be from the greatest state in the country...Louisiana!

MacKenzie Bourg, from Lafayette, Louisiana and La'Porsha Renae, originally from Raceland, Louisiana, have both made it to the Top 6 in the final season of 'American Idol.' And boy, can they sing!

Both MacKenzie and La'Porsha are judges favorites and are also boastful about their Louisiana roots. According to Nola.com, when each contestant was asked: "On the subject of backstories, how much do you think your environment growing up -- in the South, with its varied music traditions -- influenced you?"

Mackenzie's reply was:

Growing up, I went to Saints games every year. I went to Saints games this year. Just being part of that culture brings you up in music. There's so much music at the games. There's so much music outside the games. Everywhere in the Quarter is music. You can't really escape it. I know that just my upbringing in Louisiana and spending time in all parts of Louisiana, specifically New Orleans, it kind of led me to have that soulful side of me, that raw emotional side.

La'Porsha also replied with:

Actually, what I don't think people know is I spent most of my childhood in Louisiana -- Raceland, La., (where) I lived for nine years of my childhood. I only came to McComb when I reached ninth grade in high school. But growing up down there in Louisiana, we actually would go to Moses Baptist Church -- it was located in Thibodaux -- and we spent a lot of time in Houma and New Orleans as well, for the games and different festivals that went on. So I definitely had that privilege of being musically surrounded and it definitely shaped me to want to pursue music and be musical.

I tell people all the time if you want talent, go to the South. I tell them all the time! People are raving over how great me and MacKenzie are, but there's some people in Louisiana and Mississippi that can just blow the socks off of us. I'm like, 'Y'all just been looking in the wrong place!'

We will find out tonight at 7 p.m. on FOX whether or not either Louisiana hopeful will advance to the Top 5.
