Ahhhhh, geek is in the air again!

For a long time, the geek community in the Shreveport-Bossier area was pretty ignored. Sure, there are a ton of comic shops, video game stores, and you can always find a Hot Topic in a mall...but the community wasn't very well recognized.

That all changed in 2015 with the arrival of a convention scene in the Shreveport-Bossier area.

Of course everyone remember Geek'd Con in August, where over 14,000 people passed through the turnstiles over the 3-day weekend:

But 2015 also saw the arrival of the Shreveport-Bossier Geek Fair. It's not a comic con per se, it's more of a 'makers fair' with a geek twist.

The focus is away from comic collectors and toy vendors, and more on local artists and creators. There are still cosplay contests and celebrity guests (this weekend it is Dragonball Z voice actors Josh Martin and Chris Rager) but there are also live, LOCAL, musical performances.

Plus today, you can score you Geek'd Con weekend passes, for a discounted rate. Buy them in person at the Geek Fair, and get the full weekend pass for only $15. It is a cash only option.

The event is happening today, at Centenary College, doors open at $10. You can find full details here:
