This is the time of year when many people look for charities to donate to or help out with and we wanted to spotlight several right here in the Shreveport Bossier City area! If you want to help change the world it's best to help those around you!

Operation Santa Claus

This is a charity we've worked closely with for a long time because it's local people doing good for local kids! Operation Santa Claus is ran by local police and fire fighter volunteers who help needy kids in the community have a christmas they wouldn't otherwise have. If you're interested in helping they're in need of donations and volunteers to find the toys the children request, wrap them, and give them to the officers to deliver to those children in time for Christmas. The program starts around Thanksgiving and runs until two days before Christmas. For more information or to donate toys, call 318-687-1964

Pay It Forward Networking

This is a great year round charity ran out of Shreveport that helps kids who've been in the hospital feel like a kid again by granting "wishes" for them. Pay It Forward Networking uses charity events to raise money for their cause. But the main way you can help is simply sharing their posts on Facebook, most of their wishes are granted through finding the right people online that can help. Also you can simply send them your email address (or you can text payitforward to 42828) and you will receive alerts as needs are brought to them. You can then contact them if there is something you can help make happen.

Roy's Kids

Roy's Kids is a local charity designed to help single mothers who are raising kids in a single parent household with limited income provide around christmas. They also help with kids needs other times of the year through back to school drives. If you're interested in helping they need volunteers to wrap the christmas toys then delivery and year round with donors who may adopt a family, a child, or simply donate either supplies or money.
