Tom Hardy To Star In Elton John Biopic

Focus Features announced Wednesday that Tom Hardy will play Elton John in a forthcoming biopic about the singer titled "Rocketman", MSN.com reports.

Hardy is best known for his role as the villain Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises". He has also starred in such films as "Warrior", "Lawless" and "Bronson".

Elton John is giving full cooperation in the making of "Rocketman", and will also serve as executive producer. The film is scheduled to go into production late in 2014.
