    She Did Her Undergrad at LSU

    I've got to give credit where credit is due. My husband is the one who told me about this one. Dorfman earned her Bachelor's degree and graduated from Louisiana State University in 2009. She was a member of the Phi Mu sorority. She told US Weekly that she learned how to cook Cajun food while attending the university and can make a mean gumbo.

    She is the Show's First Jewish Bachelorette

    According to her cousin, Allison Yarrow, of the New York Times, Dorfman is the show's first Jewish contestant. Yarrow says this is a diversity box that needed to be checked after the series had been hit hard for ignoring it.

    She Chose to Do The Bachelorette Blind

    Ok, not actually blind, but close. She chose not to learn anything about the contestants prior to the competition. In an interview with DigBatonRouge.com, Dorfman said she chose to have an open mind and not know the details about the guys.

    She Resigned From Her DA Job

    According to TMZ, Dorfman resigned from her position at the Fulton County District Attorney's office. District Attorney Paul Howard Jr. allowed her to take unpaid leave to do the show as long as she was back by May 31. Instead of asking for an extension of her leave, she decided to resign as Assistant D.A.

    She Was Homeschooled

    Dorfman tells US Weekly that she was homeschooled because of her love for tennis. She dreamed of playing tennis professionally and played competitively in high school. However, she gave up the dream when she realized she wasn't good enough to make it to the next level.
