NECA, the makers of a series of action figures for Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained", was asked by the Weinstein Co., the film's studio, to discontinue the line after a series of complaints calling the toys "offensive" and that they trivialized the horrors of slavery.

The Weinstein Co. issued a statement which read, "We have tremendous respect for the audience and it was never our intent to offend anyone." Toymaker NECA has yet to respond.
