Comedian Tracy Morgan remains in critical condition after being involved in a multi-vehicle crash this weekend, but his publicist says that he's showing signs of improvement.

"He has been more responsive, which is an incredibly encouraging sign," publicist Lewis Kay told CNN Sunday.

Morgan is expected to be hospitalized for quite some time, having suffered a broken leg, broken ribs and a broken nose.

Local police say the accident occurred at around 1 a.m. Saturday when a tractor-trailer struck the limo Morgan was riding in. Others injured include fellow comics Ardie Fuqua and Harris Stanton, along with a man named Jeffrey Millea. Morgan's fellow passenger, comedian James "Jimmy Mack" McNair, was killed in the crash.

The driver of the truck, 35-year-old Kevin Roper, turned himself over to police Saturday and was released on $50,000 bail. He has been charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
