Girls on the Run teaches young girls to stand up for themselves, how to be leaders and, of course, how to run. Sign your daughter up today!

Girls on the Run is an after-school program and they are gearing up for their second season in Shreveport-Bossier City. This non-profit organization teaches girls how to be confident in themselves, how to stand up for themselves, how to run for themselves and more, all during those formative years between 3rd and 8th grade

And the end of each season, the girls take part in a 5K. This puts everything they have learned to use as they work together to cross the finish line.

I chatted with Beth Ann Menger last week about just how important a program like this is to a young woman.

She told me the most inspiring story about one girl who took part in the program, who had cerebral palsy. Listen to the interview to find out just how amazing this little lady is.
