[UPDATE, Feb. 17, 2015]  State Police Trooper Matt Harris tells KEEL News 35-year-old Herbert Barras, III, died from his injuries this morning at University Health.

The crash happened at a crossing with no active warning devices, just a railroad crossing sign and stop sign. But Harris says Louisiana state law requires motorists to yield the right of way to trains, whether active warning devices are present or not.

Impairment is not suspected in the crash, which is still under investigation.

Watson was driving the Dodge Ram involved in the accident. His other passenger, 35-year-old Herbert Barras, III, of Charenton, LA, remains in critical condition at University Health.
