Tyga is currently mourning the loss of his friend and bodyguard.

TMZ reports that Arlene Henderson, who Tyga and his crew knew as Punch, was killed Wednesday morning (March 30) in a freak accident on Los Angeles' 10 freeway. According to police, Punch was driving when he collided with another vehicle. When the 29-year-old exited his SUV to check on the passengers in the other vehicle, he was struck by a passing car.

A representative for Tyga tells TMZ that the rapper is "devastated, shocked and heartbroken." Tyga posted the above photo to Instagram on Thursday, writing, "Rip Punch.... I know you looking down from a better place."

News of Tyga's loss follows a January story in which a former Future bodyguard was shot and killed in Jonesboro, Georgia. And prior to that, a member of Young Thug's security team was shot and killed in Atlanta in December. The difference in Tyga's case seems to be the nature of his relationship to the deceased, as TMZ reports that he and Punch were tied by more than business.

The loss only adds to Tyga's recent rough patch, which has included reports of lawsuits and eviction notices. While bodyguards and security teams can wind up in precarious situations, the trend of recent passings is certainly a shame, with Tyga's tragedy hopefully being the last. All condolences are extended to Punch's family and Tyga's camp as they mourn their loss.
