‘War Room’ Dethrones ‘Straight Outta Compton’ In Weekend Box Office

After a strong second-place debut last week, the faith-based drama War Room knocked Straight Outta Compton out of the No. 1 spot at the box office over a rather dull three-day Labor Day weekend, taking in an estimated $9.3.million. Compton came in second with $8.8 million.

A Walk in the Woods, starring Robert Redford and Nick Nolte, debuted in third place with $8.4 million, while Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation ($7.1 million) and newcomer The Transporter Refueled ($7.1 million) rounded out the top five.
