Sadly enough it's not often that an artist writes their own music anymore but with Harry Styles that's different. As you probably remember Harry Styles used to be apart of One Direction before they broke up and it's safe to say his music has changed a lot since then.

Harry recently sat down with Rolling Stone magazine for an in depth interview about his future, relationships and his new music. He's said before that the song is about the problems people face in life but never went into detail and it turns out the song has a much deeper and sadder meaning than ever thought.

Harry Styles told Rolling Stone that Sign Of The Times "The song is written from a point of view as if a mother was giving birth to a child and there's a complication. The mother is told, 'The child is fine, but you're not going to make it.' The mother has five minutes to tell the child, 'Go forth and conquer.'"
