The LSU Tigers and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have enough wins during the regular season that they will be chosen to play one more game as part of "Bowl Season". Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns out of Lafayette can become eligible for postseason play with a victory of Louisiana-Monroe this Saturday.

Since Saturday is Championship Saturday across college football landscape most official bowl invitations won't go out until after the dust settles in the conference championship games. That certainly hasn't stopped any of us from speculating where our favorite college football teams might be invited to play for one final game this year.

Jerry Palm does bowl projections for cbssports.com. How does he describe the current bowl season climate?

It's a really jumbled mess.

As far as the LSU Tigers are concerned, Palm sees it this way.

I have them in the Outback Bowl, I figure they are in either one of the Florida games, I suppose they can end up in the Music City.

The other Florida game that Palm references in his remarks to the Louisiana Radio Network is the Taxslayer Bowl, that game is played in Jacksonville.

As far as Louisiana Tech is concerned, the Bulldogs will play in the Conference USA title game on Saturday against Western Kentucky. Palm believes a Tech win will send them to Dallas for the Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl. He suggests that a Tech loss most likely would send the team to New Orleans for the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.

That could set up an interesting situation as Jay Walker the voice of Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns believes that should the Cajuns win this weekend over ULM, they too would have a date in New Orleans.

Louisiana Tech, which played in New Orleans last year, would probably not choose the Crescent City again, especially if the Cajuns are there.

Of course first things first, the Cajuns actually have to become bowl eligible for any of that to be considered.

So, what have we learned here? We like to speculate about sports and we'll just have to wait until December 5th to see who is going bowling where.
