Woman Fired for Being ‘Irresistible’

We have some bad news for you if you’re “too attractive” -- you could be legally fired for it. At least in Iowa. Last Friday, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled on a case where a 53-year-old dentist named James Knight fired his attractive female assistant, 33-year-old Melissa Nelson.

The dentist said he fired Melissa because he was worried he might try to cheat on his wife with her. He said he had an "irresistible attraction" to her. So, she sued him for sex discrimination.

According to CNN, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled it was legal for James to fire her. The all-male Supreme Court found the firing wasn't sex discrimination since his decision was based on feelings, not her gender.
