Detectives are gathering evidence in a shooting that left a west Shreveport woman dead and a man hospitalized.

Just after 9 last night, patrol officers were called to a shooting in the 1500 block of Natalie Street. There, they found 23-year-old Latoya Bryant had been shot at least once in the upper body. She was rushed to University Health, where she later died.

A second victim, identified as 26-year-old Jamaria Holloway, was shot several times. He was found a short distance from the home after reportedly fleeing on foot from the gunmen. He is expected to survive his wounds.

Violent Crimes detectives have been working to follow leads into what may have sparked the shooting. At this stage in their investigation, they have limited descriptions of the suspects -- three black males wearing all dark clothing, with bandanas covering portions of their faces.

The suspects reportedly approached the victims as they stood in front of the Natalie Street home, and fired gunshots as words were exchanged.

Anyone with information that can help is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
