Former professional wrestler Joanie "Chyna" Laurer has died at the age of 46.

TMZ reports that police were called to her Redondo Beach, CA home Wednesday after a friend found her unresponsive. Sources from the Los Angeles Police Department said that Laurer had not been seen or heard from in several days. There was no evidence of foul play, but officers are investigating the death as a possible drug overdose.

Laurer was the first female wrestler to enter the WWE's Royal Rumble, and is also remembered as one of the original members of D-Generation-X with fellow wrestler Triple H.

Her post-wrestling career was turbulent, including appearances on several reality shows and a stint as a porn actress.

A statement was posted on her Twitter page, which read, "It is with deep sadness to inform you today that we lost a true icon, a real life superhero. She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her."
