Yoga is not at all what I expected, yet everything I expected.

As you may have heard on the air, I'm starting a new workout journey at Breathe Yoga. I've always been one to want to take care of myself through fitness, but my go-tos are normally sneakers and some pavement or free weights parked in front of the TV. It was time to switch things up.

So, I'm doing something completely out of my element... yoga!

Talk about something new. I took my first Vinyasa class at Breathe Yoga Shreveport on Tuesday and loved it! I quickly learned that yoga is a mental challenge that forces you to remove all distractions of the world and focus on your body. About halfway through the class, I learned that it is also a physical challenge. The trembling muscles were a dead giveaway.

I know I will master the physical part however, it's the mental aspect that has me intrigued. I never realized how distracted and unfocused I am. I'm out of practice. At times, I forgot to even listen to the Rachel's beautiful voice telling me what to do.

Totally rude!

So my biggest challenge will be getting my head straight in class. I know it's exactly what I need in my life, but it will also be the hardest thing to master.

But I gotta tell you, I slept like a baby last night.

I have been struggling to stay asleep these last few weeks, but last night I hardly moved all night. I also woke up feeling refreshed. I didn't dread the alarm clock like I had on my sleepless nights.

I am so thankful for Breathe Yoga and the instant results I am seeing. The ladies are so sweet and will help you pick out which classes are right for you. You can call them at 318-798-0677 or stop by their East 70th location, right next to the Post Office.
