13 University of Louisiana at Lafayette Football Players Arrested for Theft
ABC News is reporting that 13 University of Louisiana football players have been arrested for stealing more than $2,400 worth of personal items from a fellow student. The arrests came after investigators reviewed surveillance video from April 5th that allegedly captured the players entering a dorm room and stealing items that include clothing, accessories, shoes, a television, game console and several games.
According to police, all 13 have been released on bond. The University has weighed in on the situation by handing down indefinite suspensions for "violations of team rules."
The suspended students, named by the schools website are:
Matthew Barnes, Joe Dillon, Robert Hunt, Denarius Howard, Jarvis Jeffries, LaDarrius Kidd, Terik Miller, Damar'ren Mitchell, Trey Ragas, Simeon Thomas, Levarious Varnado, D'Aquin Withrow and Jordan Wright.
The school declined to comment further on the suspended students due to the ongoing investigation.
