13 Year Old Arrested After High Speed Chase

13 year old boy arrested after allegedly stealing a car and leading deputies on a high speed chase. According to Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator, a witness called authorities after they observed three males breaking into cars in the 4900 block of Fairway View.

The alleged car jackers fled the scene in two pick up trucks and a car. A deputy was able to catch up with the vehicles and attempted to pull them over near Chickamauga Trail. When the Deputy hit his lights, all three vehicles headed in separate directions.

The deputy chose to follow one of the trucks. After a 15 minute chase and receiving help from Louisiana State Police and Shreveport Police, Deputies used a spike strip to stop the truck and arrest the 13 year old boy. The juvenile was booked into the Caddo Juvenile Detention Center for aggravated flight from an officer and illegal possession of stolen things.

A short time after the chase ended, the two other hijacked vehicles were found abandoned. The other suspects have yet to be caught.
