One Louisiana Prison Camp is Reporting Their 2nd Escape in a Week
It seems that one Louisiana prison is having a hard time keeping their inmates from running off. For the 2nd time in a week, an escape has been reported by a satellite camp near the United States Penitentiary (USP) Pollock near Pollock, Louisiana.
These Escapes Are Happening at Louisiana's USP Pollock - a Minimum-Security Federal Prison Camp
According to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, the penitentiary itself is a high-security lock-up for federal convicts, but just outside of that facility there is a minimum security satellite camp where lower-risk inmates are housed to complete their respective sentences. Today, that security is a little less "minimum," after officials reported that 47-year-old inmate Michael Roy Reed (pictured above right) was the latest to give guards the slip and escape at around 7:30 this past Saturday morning.
Louisiana Prison Escapee Michael Roy Reed Wasn't Scheduled For Release Until 2026
According to Fox News, Reed had been serving an 84-month sentence for unlawful transport of firearms and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon since 2019. I guess 4 more years was too much for Reed. He may have been inspired by a similar break-out at the same facility just one week earlier.
