The end of an era is here for Shreveport-Bossier City's book lovers, comic nerds, gamers, and everyone else in between, as the doors to 2nd & Charles are closing for the final time. For over a decade, the store was a treasure trove of used books, movies, vinyl records, video games, and collectibles. Now, its final days are marked by a quiet hush and aisles that are more empty than full.

The Final Days of 2nd & Charles: What It's Like

Walking through the store feels different now. Years ago, this place was full of variety on the shelves, but it's a ghost of its former self. The shelves that used to have hundreds of modern and retro video games have disappeared and been replaced by more books, plastered with store-closing discount signs.

A New Bookstore for Bossier City, But What's Been Lost?

Just a ride down Airline Drive from 2nd & Charles is a new Books-A-Million store, which some might already know is the same company that runs 2nd & Charles. It looks like the used books store has been replaced with a new bookstore. But the loss still stings because, unlike 2nd & Charles, there are no video games or trade-ins at B-A-M.

2nd & Charles still has a few weeks left in Bossier City. The store announced on social media that their final day will be sometime in mid-October 2025.

History Of Geek'd Con Guests

Geek'd Con is Shreveport's biggest comic and pop culture event. Launching in 2015, the event quickly became one of the premiere comic con style events in the entire state of Louisiana.

A big part of that growth has been the celebrity guest lineups. Since the first show in 2015, the quality of guests attending Geek'd Con rivals any pop culture event of this size. From classic Star Wars stars to guests from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Geek'd Con has welcomed the biggest names from multiple generations.

Because there have been SO MANY guests since 2015, we can include all of them here. This is just a look at the history of guests at Geek'd Con.
