5 Year Old Raises Money for Classmates Who Can’t Afford Milk
5 year old, Sunshine Oelfke, noticed that one of her friends in her elementary school class didn't have milk during snack time, so she did what she thought was best. According to the Good News Network, Sunshine and her grandmother, Jackie Sue, emptied out her piggy bank and Sunshine immediately put the money in a bag and put it in her back pack.
Apparently, Jackie Sue was very confused because Sunshine had been saving up for a snowmobile.
The Good News Network reported that, "There are 20 students in the 5-year-old’s class at Birchview Elementary School inIshpeming, Michigan – and half of them cannot afford to buy the $0.45 milk cartons for snack time. This means that providing every student in the class with milk costs roughly $180 per month."
Once Sunshine and her grandmother knew about this they decided to create a GoFundMe page to help raise money for her classmates to have milk. So far she has raised close to $8,000.
