5SOS Covers Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’ [AUDIO]

Anyone else find it odd that an Australian band covered an American song for a magazine based in the UK?

5 Seconds of Summer loves Green Day. They fan girl over the iconic trio much like we fan girl over them. Needless to say, Green Day has been a major influence on 5SOS.

I have to admit, had I not known that 5SOS is a huge fan of Green Day, I would have thought it had an anti-American tone. I mean, c'mon... An Australian band singing, "I don't want to be an American idiot"? Like, I can call my baby ugly, but heaven help someone else who does the same.

The cover was done for a special CD edition of a UK magazine called Kerrang! It's almost as good as the original.
