5SOS’ Michael Clifford Says They Can’t Be Friends with Taylor Swift for One Reason

Sure they've hung out a time or two, but don't hold your breath for the 5SOS + Taylor Swift = BFFs tattoo.

After Taylor Swift's 1989 World Tour, it seemed as if she was besties with everyone in the music industry. However, some feel that they simply cannot be friends with her. Why?

She's too famous.

5 Seconds of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford told Rolling Stone that they attended Taylor's 24th birthday party in 2014. After that they texted maybe once or twice, but it was Michael who cut off communication.

Because he's crazy.

Just kidding. He said the conversation was short and sweet. He thanked her for the party and complimented her on it. She thanked him and then asked how he was doing. Then it ended. Mostly because he didn't know what to say next.

"[She's] so ridiculously famous. We can't be friends with people that famous. It doesn't really work."

This isn't the first "diss" the band has thrown Taylor's direction. I mean, if you can even call this a diss. Late last year, Ashton Irwin called Taylor a "little destructive" in an interview with Howard Stern. In that same interview, Michael said Taylor blocked his number because he texted her too much.

Wait...

He texted her too much, yet also claims he ended conversations? Something's not adding up. Could it be that 5SOS doesn't know how to be a part of Swift's squad? Michael has admitted he has a hard time being friends with anyone. Maybe you should just stick with your band mates, broseph.
