5 Seconds of Summer lead singer Michael Clifford put a scare into fans during a performance at this weekend's Radio 1 Teen Awards in London when he took a nasty spill onstage.

The band was performing their latest single "Hey Everybody" when Clifford stumbled and fell into a lower portion of the stage. Video of the accident soon hit the interwebs, but Clifford quickly took to Twitter to calm concerned fans.

"WHY DO I ALWAYS HURT MYSELF," he tweeted. "All good geezers. On crutches for the next few days. Don't look at me funny pls lolz. Thanks radio 1 for having us."

He added, "Wembley arena doesn't like me much."

ICYMI, Clifford suffered another injury last summer when his hair and face were burned by pyrotechnics during a show at the same stadium. He was treated for minor burns and has since made a full recovery.
