A Shreveport Food Staple Has Come Out of Retirement
Tacomania Was the First Mexican Restaurant I Fell in Love With When I Moved to Shreveport.
Tacomania was in business for over 20 years, it was a restaurant that so many locals loved. There were so many broken hearts when the Mexican restaurant closed down in 2022. The Tacomania building on East Kings Highway was torn down and a Starbucks was built.
Tacomania Has Made a Triumphant Return to Shreveport.
Mark Crawford the Airport Business and Development Manager for the Shreveport Airport Authority broke the internet this weekend with an announcement that is making hearts all over the Ark-La-Tex happy. Mark Crawford announced that Tacomania has found a new home in the Shreveport Regional Airport. Crawford said, "We are always working to improve the customer experience at the airport and we are thrilled to bring back a beloved Shreveport classic like Tacomania."
It isn't just Tacomania travelers are excited about, "We’re also excited to have an international restaurant brand in the airport for the first time in the airport’s 72-year history with Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. More exciting restaurant options are on their way and we know our customers will love them." said Mark Crawford.
Do You Have to Fly Out of Shreveport to Be able to Eat Tacomania?
For now, yes. Unfortunately, the nostalgic eatery is after the TSA security checkpoint, but Mark Crawford claims that Shreveport REgional Airport is working on something special for Tacomania fans. "We’re working with TSA to join a program they offer where people can request a visitor pass from the airport. That pass allows you to go through the TSA checkpoint like a regular passenger to come eat at the new restaurants, see someone off at the gate, or greet someone when they arrive at the gate. We hope that program is initiated by the end of the year or early next year."
