As a long time fan of Star Wars, I have a bit of a love hate relationship with the series.  I love the worlds and cultures that the franchise has produced, most recently the Disney+ series The Mandalorian (AKA Baby Yoda and Friends).  I am not in love with the early portrayal of Anakin Skywalker by Jake Lloyd and later Hayden Christensen, or the whole "midichlorian" explanation of the force in general.  That being said, Christensen did pull it together and pull off the turn to the darkside that would convert Anakin to the ultimate villain Darth Vader.

My second favorite villain in this vast universe is Kylo Ren.  The force-powered, petulant child turned deeply troubled despotic ruler of the First Order has shown significant growth (or decline) - a quality that very few movie, TV, or literary characters do.  The force (pun intended) behind Kylo Ren is the extremely talented Adam Driver.  This actor has delivered the goods, and filled the shoes of his cinematic grandfather (Darth Vader) very well in my opinion.  This is due in part to the fact that he is also a huge fan of Star Wars.  Such a fan, in fact, that he is willing to commit grand theft Disney in order to take home a keepsake of his journey through the dark side.

OK, theft is a bit strong, Driver did get the permission of J.J. Abrahams first.  Obviously because drawing the ire of the mouse is worse than ticking off the emperor himself.  According to Mashable, the 36 year old California native took home his Kylo Ren costume and signature cross-hilt lightsaber.  Since the upcoming finale to the latest trilogy, The Rise of Skywalker in theaters December 20th, will be his last go under the mask - he literally hung up his lightsaber.
