As someone who struggles with my confidence and self-esteem, I think Ariel Winters is someone to look up to when it comes to staying body positive. There are multiple of celebrities that have talked about being body positive, but Ariel Winters has been the most non-apologetic about embracing who she is.

She appeared in Self Magazine topless showing off her breast reduction scars. She recently had breast reduction due to back and neck pain. She was a 34F and her frame couldn't support the weight of her chest causing pressure in her spine.

"It was hard for me in the beginning to deal with people's comments and deal with everybody having an opinion on absolutely everything I did," Winters told Self. "It was hard for me to not fall prey to wanting to change the way I felt and the way I did things and the way I looked because of what other people said."

I couldn't possibly imagine what it would be like to have people openly having an opinion about everything that I did. I am pretty sure that it would cause me to never want to leave my house, but thankfully she has some amazing people in her life to keep her afloat.

“I had a great role model in Sofia [Vergara] growing up, with her being a curvy woman that was super proud of who she was and what she looked like,” she said. “She could see that I was struggling a little bit with how to deal with my body, and was always trying to give me advice, like, ‘Here are some brands that would look good on our body type,’ or ‘Wear whatever you want, and feel good about yourself.’”

I wish I had Sofia Vergara giving me clothing advice. I had the same problem Ariel did. Growing up I developed very early, and being the odd one out I would get picked on because of it. I also had the problem with knowing how to dress for my body type. Heck! I still have problems and I am 22.

"I really had to stand up and make it a point to fight back against people who were not only body shaming, but also slut-shaming...taking aim at people that weren’t doing anything wrong and making comments that were so harmful and distressing for absolutely no purpose," she told Self.

No one should have to be shamed for looking or being a certain way, but with media being the way it is. Criticism is almost unavoidable. I think what Ariel Winter's is saying is saying is that we should love who we are and the body we have despite the hate and the comments.
