CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS

ELIGIBILITY

ArkLaTex Idol is open to persons in the KMSS FOX 33 viewing area, or persons in the listening areas of TOWN SQUARE MEDIA SHREVEPORT between the ages of 15 and 28 years old. (Must be 15 to 28 on June 5, 2012). Proof of age and residence must be provided in order to be qualified. Contestants must be a legal U.S. citizen or U.S. resident who is eligible to work in the United States.
Employees and immediate family members of employees of KMSS FOX 33, Communications Corporation of America, White Knight Broadcasting, FOX Broadcasting Company, Fremantle Media North America, 19 Entertainment, Town Square Media, Ivan Smith Furniture, Virginia College, Shreveport Federal Credit Union, and Pierre Bossier Mall and their sponsors or vendors are not eligible to participate in the contest. This includes, but not limited to, spouses, parents, children, and/or relatives residing with such parties.
A written acknowledgement and release to be aired on radio and videotaped by KMSS FOX 33, using your name and likeness before, during and after the contest must be signed in order to compete. A parental consent must also be signed in case the contestant is under eighteen (18) years of age.
If a person is a member of a professional art union and/or being represented by a talent agent, a talent agency, an attorney, or a law firm as a professional or amateur talent, that person is deemed ineligible to compete.
If a person has been convicted of or standing trial for a felony offense according to federal or state law, that person is deemed ineligible to compete.6. Because this is a sanctioned competition by FOX Broadcasting Company and the producers of American Idol, all eligibility requirements for American Idol are also enforced in this contest. HOW TO ENTER

One Hundred (100) contestants will be chosen to participate at the Fox 33 Ark-La-Tex Idol audition. These 100 qualifying applicants will be chosen based on the order their applications are received. Applications are available at the KMSS FOX 33 Television Station, 3519 Jewella Avenue in Shreveport and participating sponsors or online at www.kmsstv.com. Contestants will be given 30 seconds to perform during the ArkLaTex Idol audition on

July 14, 2011, at Pierre Bossier Mall in Bossier City, LA. Contestants will check-in with ArkLaTex Idol personnel at 9:00 AM on July 14, 2012. Performances will begin at 10:00 AM. Finals will follow shortly after preliminary round is completed. Contestants must be present for Finals to win.

A maximum of 100 contestants will each be given the opportunity to sing acapella for 30 seconds before a panel of judges. Judges will judge on pitch, appearance, stage presence and personality. Judges have the right to let contestants sing longer than 30 seconds.
Contestants may use an original song or original composition for their audition selection.
A total of 10 contestants will be chosen for the final competition, scheduled for Saturday, July 14th, 2012 at Pierre Bossier Mall. Contestants competing in the Ark-La-Tex Idol Finals can sing the same song from preliminary rounds or a second song if they desire. Judges have the right to add additional contestants from preliminary rounds to finals.
The Ark-La-Tex Idol Winner will be judged by a panel of judges to determine winner. The Ark-La-Tex Idol winner will receive a guaranteed audition in front of an American Idol producer. Winner will also receive travel allowance and hotel accommodations from Fox 33.

MISCELLANEOUS

Any contestant who performs music that contains graphic language and/or depicts gratuitous sexual overtures, violence, drugs and/or alcohol during any portion of this contest will be automatically disqualified.
If the winner of ArkLaTex Idol is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the winner to the New Orleans, LA American Idol auditions. The parent/guardian will automatically be chosen as winner’s guest as part of the prize package.
In the event any contestant does not meet the necessary requirements, all prizes that have been awarded will be forfeited.
If KMSS FOX-33 management or its radio partner, TOWN SQUARE MEDIA, learns of a contestant’s misrepresentation during the contest, the contestant will be automatically disqualified.
If KMSS FOX-33 management or its radio partner, TOWN SQUARE MEDIA, learns of a contestant’s misrepresentation after a prize has been awarded or announced, the winner or recipient must return all prizes and/or monetary awards within ten (10) days of notification, and be subject to legal action.
Payment of any and all expenses related to any prize including, but not limited to taxes, is the sole responsibility of the winner. This also includes transportation to and from Shreveport, gas money, food and beverages, and any night’s stay in Shreveport/Bossier City.
No substitution or transfer of prizes will be permitted.
Do not wear any clothing items revealing any tattoos, bearing designer, sports or any other logos or brand names, or bearing the name or likeness of a celebrity, living or dead. If you do wear such clothing, you may be required to remove it or turn it inside out or put on additional clothing.
KMSS FOX-33 reserves the right to disqualify any person who does not comply with any of the official rules stated herein.
The management of KMSS FOX-33 and the laws of the state of Louisiana shall determine any and all rule disputes. KMSS Fox 33 reserves the right to change contest rules anytime during contest period.
