Battle for Louisiana: LSU, LA Tech Baseball Teams Collide
While Louisiana may not have a 'professional' baseball team, that doesn't mean baseball doesn't matter. In fact, Louisiana generally has some of the best college baseball teams in the country.
You got LSU-Shreveport setting records at their level. The LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, generally speaking, are always in the hunt for a National Championship. The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs are generally make Omaha to play for a Championship. In short - there's lots of good baseball stuff happening around the state.
Which is why I'm so jacked for this mid-week, in-state matchup: The LA Tech Bulldogs vs the LSU Tigers are set to battle for in-state supremacy.
Tech vs LSU For One Night Only
In baseball, you generally play a series. However, for this state showdown, LSU is only facing off against Tech for one game down in Baton Rouge at Alex Box Stadium. And, I'm pretty darn excited for this matchup.
The LSU Tigers are currently the #5 team in the country and are eyeing another National Championship. The LA Tech Bulldogs are currently unranked, but don't let that fool you. They may only be 17-11 on the season, but this is still a pretty good ball club.
Tech has made the NCAA Tournament 3 out of the last 4 years and are coming off their first Conference USA Championship in 2024. So, while they may not be the team they were last year, they're still pretty good and have some really high quality talent. In a one game showdown, they can definitely pull off an upset.
With that said, historically speaking, Tech is definitely a massive underdog here. LSU has won 16 out of their last 18 meetings and LSU leads the all-time series 46-20.
How Can You Watch or Listen to Tech vs LSU?
While this may be a major matchup for us in Louisiana, unfortunately, this isn't exactly a "prime-time" match up for the rest of the country. First pitch will take place at 6:30 this evening at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge.
TV wise, the game will only be streamed online via the SEC Network+. However, if you got a a radio, you can listen live on official LSU radio affiliate - 1130 the Tiger in Shreveport.
