A major national retail chain previously announced that it would be shutting down operations at 150 of its locations. Now we know which stores will be the first to close, including one right here in Shreveport-Bossier City, LA.

According to CNBC, major retail chain Bed Bath & Beyond has announced dozens of the roughly 150 stores it plans to close. Sadly, one of those locations happens to be one of ours.

I don't know about you, but I'm sure going to miss Bed Bath & Beyond's famous 20% off coupons that never expired. And where are folks who are getting married or are having a housewarming party going to register for gifts? Sure, there's Target, Walmart, Amazon, and Dillards, but we love roaming the aisles at Bed Bath & Beyond. I never leave without a nifty 'As Seen on TV' product or something cool for the house!

Which Bed Bath & Beyond stores are closing?

Locally, the Bed Bath & Beyond store in Bossier City is closing. It's the one on Meadow Creek Drive. So far, it seems like the Shreveport store on Youree Drive is safe. Over the last few years, Bed Bath & Beyond has shuttered roughly 35% of its stores. Last month, Bed Bath & Beyond said that they would close an additional 20% of their lower-performing locations to help the company's financial position. Bed Bath & Beyond is set to release its second-quarter financial results later this month. CNBC reports that shares of the company are down 38% this year and that not only are they cutting staff, but they're also looking for a new management team.
