Blanchard Kissing Bandit Apprehended
As a small town of about 3,000 people Blanchard is far from being a famous city in Louisiana. It is known for being the hometown of a few notable people. Shreveport mayor Ollie Tyler was born there. Longtime professional golfer Hal Sutton was raised there. And lest we forget, Blanchard is home to Elle Evans, a model and actress who was Playboy Playmate of the Month for October 2009 and who has appeared in numerous movies, television shows, and music videos.
Now Blanchard has the dubious distinction of being the stomping ground of another kissing bandit. There have been a number of kissing bandits over the years, most notably Morganna, who was famous from the 1970's through 1990's for rushing onto the field to kiss Major League Baseball players including Nolan Ryan, Pete Rose, and Cal Ripken, Jr.
Blanchard's kissing bandit's exploits were not quite so glamorous, and became downright scary, which is why Caddo Parish deputies arrested him on Wednesday.
Back on May 14th, a woman reported that she had been accosted by a man outside the Super S store on Roy Road. Seems that as the woman neared the entrance she was approached by a man who asked if he could give her a Mother's Day hug. Being that Blanchard is a friendly town, the woman agreed, got the hug then went to do her shopping. When she exited the store a while later, the man came up to her again and began to harass her with profane language. He then suddenly grabbed her and forced a kiss upon her. Needless to say, the man's intentions were not nice from the beginning.
As you can infer from his actions, this bandit is not long on brains. The offended lady took a picture of him with her cell phone and gave it to a Caddo deputy. After an extremely quick investigation, deputies went to the Blanchard Place Apartments and arrested 53-year-old Frank Spencer Robertson, Jr. Turns out that Robertson has apparently behaved like this before as officials have learned through further investigation. Gives a whole new meaning to "stealing kisses".
All kidding aside, we're glad this creep's days of banditry are over, and the good people of Blanchard don't have to worry about being accosted when they go to buy a carton of milk.
