Department of Water and Sewerage Director William Daniel told KEEL News on Thursday they were already planning on rehab work on the tanks when the damage was discovered.  City crews were dispatched Thursday morning to begin repairs on the St. Vincent water tower at the corner of St. Vincent Ave and Oakdale Street. Repairs on that tower were completed Thursday evening.

The Department of Water and Sewerage received approval from the Louisiana Department of Health to begin sampling and testing the water.  Lab collection staff were expected to work through the night last night until all samples were collected.

Repairs were also completed Thursday at the Linwood water tank and elevated ground storage site at 70th and Pines Road.  Repairs for the West Shreveport elevated tank will begin early Friday morning.

City officials announced based on approval from the LDH, they hope to have the boil advisory lifted, for at least portions of the city, by late Friday afternoon.
