16 Bossier Parish educators received $30,000 in grants on Tuesday, courtesy of The Biedenharn Foundation.  According to the Shreveport Times, the money will be used to implement new projects and acquire new technology for their classrooms.

The foundation has given grants to Bossier Parish Schools in memory of Syndey Biedenharn. Syndey was a former teacher whose family owns and operates Coca-Cola Bottling in Shreveport. Syndey Biedenharn died in a tragic car wreck in 2012 at 62 years of age, and this educators' endowment was established to carry on her legacy for the children of Bossier City.
