Bossier Family Builds Epic Hockey Rink on Front Lawn
One Bossier Family Took Advantage of the Freezing Weather and Made Something Epic.
You may think there is only one place in Shreveport-Bossier to drop a puck, but you would be wrong. There is a hockey rink in North Bossier. It isn't open to the public but it was made for some very lucky kids to experience the magic.
Two Meteorologists at the National Weather Service in Shreveport Decided They Wanted to Build an Epic Hockey Rink.
Ryan Knapp and Brandon Throne wanted to build a hockey rink for Brandon's kids to get the experience of outdoor skating and hockey. Both Knapp and Throne played growing up. Not only was Ryan Knapp playing hockey in college he also is a volunteer skills coach for the Mudbugs Youth Highschool Program.
Knapp and Throne Took Three Hours to Build the Epic Hockey Rink.
Ryan Knapp said "We had a rough idea the route we wanted to take with it, just had to overcome some hurdles. The ice was solid by last night and just needed a fresh sheet of water over top of it but with Brandon and I both working the winter weather, that made it hard for us to tend to it until this morning when we got out there and it was really stable and ready to skate on." The result was epic and we love seeing a family enjoy the fun.
