Bossier: Loud Music Coming From Your Car Could Get You in Trouble

It was a very interesting council meeting in Bossier Tuesday night. Councilman Jeff Darby presented a new ordinance that he is sponsoring to the Bossier City Council. What's the ordinance that is making all of us turn our heads? Loud music coming from cars.

Before I go any further I would like to formally announce I have turned into a cranky old lady without realizing it. Why am I nodding my head as I read the proposed ordinance? Who am I? Am I in one of those commercials where the millennials are turning into their parents? What's next? Stacking 17 pillows on one couch? Lord help me because I am hoping this ordinance goes through.

One of my all-time pet peeves is super loud music when I am trying to sleep. There was a guy at my old apartment complex who would blare horrid music while on his motorcycle. I am pretty sure the music was louder than the motorcycle. Maybe I would have not been so annoyed if we had similar taste in music? I also hate when a car pulls up next to me at a red light and it's just base making all of our cars shake. Like, can you not?

What if you knew that annoying your fellow Bossier people would end up in you losing your license for 30 days and paying a $200 fine? According to the proposed ordinance, loud music from vehicles can “violate the peace and tranquility” of Bossier residents. The councilman even threw in the whole naughty language thing saying the music “may contain vulgar or obscene language.”. Bossier residents, do you think this ordinance should go through?
