It's a day dedicated to celebrating a magical potion from Mexico - tequila!

Taken straight from the bottle, in shots or mixed in to create a margarita, it is one of the most popular liquors at the bar.  I'm down for a great margarita any day of the week, it just doesn't have to be on the 24th!  Serve it to me either frozen or on the rocks but it definitely has to have a salted rim though!

While learning about this special day, according to Holidays Calendar, I learned that tequila can only be made in the states of Jalisco, Michoacán, Nayarit and Guanajuato in Mexico according to Mexican law. It doesn't matter than no one can trace back the history of the day because we like celebrating it.  National Tequila Day is mainly celebrated here in the U.S. and in Mexico, but has spread to Britain and the U.K. too.

If you're looking for ways to celebrate at home, you can check out this list of perfect cocktails to celebrate with on National Tequila Day from Forbes including the El Capitan, Salt Air Margarita, Sunset City, the Long Island Express and more.
