And just like that, the City of Shreveport is ready to resume normal operations the day after Hurricane Laura made her wicked way through northwest Louisiana!

Of course, normal is an interesting word to use for for a time that involves enduring a hurricane in the midst of a pandemic during a period of civil unrest, and a Presidential election. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sure there’s a penalty for piling on. Can you tell we’re a little overwhelmed at this point?

Here’s what Shreveport city officials have to say about daily operations including transport and trash collection resuming tomorrow, Friday, August 28, 2020:

The City of Shreveport will resume its normal operations on Friday, Aug. 28.
The Police and Fire departments will continue any necessary weather related responses. SporTran will resume all transit back to its COVID Schedule. City Courts and all public parks will reopen.
On Friday, Public Works will resume garbage collection for those that were missed on Thursday. Pickups normally scheduled for Friday will be collected on Saturday.
For questions about the trash schedule, please call 318-673-6300. For questions about drainage or to report a downed tree on City right of way, please call 318- 673-6330 or 6331.
