The Bossier Parish School District will be holding a community meeting Tuesday at Benton High School after the recent arrest of a teacher and coach. The meeting will start at 6 pm inside the school's gym. The meeting will focus on how parents can talk about the situation with their children. Representatives from Gingerbread House will also be on hand to offer their support and service.

“A team of child psychologists, counselors and other experts will be there to help guide parents on how to talk with their children about sexual issues outside the home and to offer support services,” says a statement from the School District.

Aubrey Norcross, a teacher at Benton Elementary and a coach of the Archery teams, was arrested last week on first degree rape and video voyeurism charges.

When the initial arrest was made, Bossier Superintendent of Schools Scott Smith issued the following statement:

We are shocked by this allegation and want to be clear that Bossier Schools has absolutely no tolerance for any employee who violates the trust and safety of the children in our care. We took immediate action to place Mr. Norcross on administrative leave upon learning of this charge and the district continues to work closely with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office as detectives investigate this case.

Norcross was originally arrested Wednesday on video voyeurism charges. During the investigation, police found additional evidence that lead to the first degree rape charge being added on Friday. Norcross is being held on a $900,000 bond at the Bossier Max facility in Plain Dealing.
