Louisiana Sheriff’s Deputy Gets 100 Years For Nasty Crimes

Former Livingston Parish Sheriff's Deputy, Dennis Perkins, will spend the next hundred years in prison.

After seeing the list of crimes he was accused of committing and those he actually pled guilty to committing, one might think that a century in the slammer isn't long enough.

In a story originally reported by theadvocate.com we are reminded that Perkins and his ex-wife, Cynthia Perkins, a former Livingston Parish school teacher, were accused of a total of 150 felony charges including rape, child pornography, video voyeurism and

ejaculating on various pastries and into bottles of energy drinks that were then ingested by unsuspecting victims. Also, sometime between June 1-19, 2019, Dennis Perkins engaged in sexual contact with a dog and filmed the act

This past Tuesday, January 3, Perkins avoided trial by striking a plea agreement with prosecutors that will place him behind bars for the remainder of his life.

Avoiding a number of other charges, Perkins did plead guilty to the following:

• Second-degree rape
• Two counts of sexual battery of a child under the age of 13
• Video voyeurism
• Two counts of production of child pornography
• Mingling of harmful substances

Theadvocate.com relays that the "mingling of harmful substances" pertains to an accusation that he contaminated pastries his former wife served to students.

This case was extremely high profile and due to that, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry prosecuted Perkins himself and after the guilty plea was entered had this to say, "He not only waived any right to appeal, probation, or parole and any attempt to avoid conviction, but Mr. Perkins also spared the victims from reliving his horrific crimes during trial"

In a separate article from wafb.com, it would appear Perkins was remorseful for his actions as he said, "I’m sorry.”  “It’s been more than three years living in a box and it’s not about me,” he said. “I just want to make this statement. Jesus Christ has forgiven me. And I’m grateful for that. And, I hope and pray that anybody that this affected will also find forgiveness and healing through Jesus Christ”
