Did You Know About Chicot Loop Trail?
This beautiful state park is located in Ville Plate, Louisiana. This trail will take you on some of the most breathtaking hikes through waterways and the bottomland hardwood forest. The trail is roughly twenty-two miles long and is dripping with picturesque landscapes.
Rolling hills, splash pads, fishing, and camping are also among the list of things you can enjoy while visiting the state park. Did I mention there is a two thousand acre man-made lake?
If you are someone who enjoys biking versus hiking, there are multiple parts of the trail that are geared toward mountain bikers. They also encourage more leisure cyclists to bring their bikes to ride the roadways. There are also multiple boat launches around the park for you to go canoeing and kayaking.
This month, on March 28th, you can explore the park on a guided canoe tour of the Chicot Lake. This event will be from 10:00am - noon, and they do encourage the canoeing experience. Space is limited, so pre-registration is required. Participants may bring their own canoe but must also register. For more information, call 888.677.6100 toll-free or 337.363.6289 locally.
