You dish owners might want to rethink that switch back to cable.

Viacom channels such as MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon are now dark on DirecTV due to a dispute over carriage fees. 

DirecTV VP Derek Chang issued a statement saying that Viacom was pushing for the fee hike "despite the fact that the ratings for many of their main networks have plummeted and much of Viacom's programming can be seen for free online."

Shows affected by the blackout include "Jersey Shore", "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart", "The Colbert Report" and "Spongebob Squarepants".
