Drake, Kendrick Lamar and More Nominated for 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards
Next month's 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards look to be a Drake-dominated affair. The network today (Sept. 12) revealed the slate of award nominees, led by Drizzy with 11 nominations and Cardi B with 10.
Both rappers' nominations include Best Hip Hop Video, MVP of the Year, and Album of the Year for Scorpion and Invasion of Privacy, respectively. J. Cole's KOD, Migos' Culture II and The Carters' Everything Is Love are also competing for Album of the Year.
Childish Gambino, for his part, pulled six nominations, while Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar each earned five. All three are nominated in the Lyricist of the Year category.
This year's Best New Hip Hop Artist category, won last year by Cardi, includes Blocboy JB, Juice Wrld, Lil Baby, Rich the Kid and the late XXXTentacion. Both Cardi and X were also nominated in the same category for the 2018 American Music Awards, which was released today.
The show, hosted on Oct. 6 at The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach, Fla., will be broadcast on BET Networks on Oct. 16. The show's performance list has not yet been announced.
Last year's program featured Cardi performing "Bodak Yellow," Eminem dissing Donald Trump, and of course, BET's famous cyphers. See the nominations in full below.
