As if 2020 hasn't been a devastating year for several businesses all over Shreveport-Bossier, one business is being forced to close after a drunk driver plowed into their building early Sunday morning.

Happy Belly's Italian Ice Factory is a local favorite where Shreveport congregates to get a fix on Italian ice and delicious custard. If you've lived in the SBC long enough you have probably walked away with a very happy belly from here. Unfortunately, we will all have to rely on Happy Belly's mobile ice and custard truck to get out Happy Belly's. According to Leslie Orsulack McMurray the owner of Happy belly's Italian Ice Factory, the drunk driver completely destroyed their drive-through. The unidentified drunk driver "tore down two brick columns, demolished marquee sign, and smashed a glass door.".

Happy Belly's took to their Facebook page to inform the community early Sunday morning and they were quick to remind the community to not drink and drive. "Our store will be closed for a couple of days. Last night a drunk driver ran into the building at 3:30 am and destroyed the drive-thru. We will need to have it all replaced because it's unstable. The driver is still alive thank God. Please DON'T drink and drive."

Happy Belly's will be set up with their mobile truck to serve you this week at the following locations:

Cypress Baptist Church Fall Fest Wednesday 10/28 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
