If he hadn't done it before last night, Antoine Duplantis solidified himself as an LSU Baseball legend.

Last night in the opening game of the NCAA Tournament Regionals in Baton Rouge, Duplantis had three hits to tie Eddy Furniss for most career hits in LSU history. When Furniss left LSU in 1998, he did so with 352 hits, a number now matched by Duplantis.

Coming into this season, Duplantis knew he had a chance to break the record, but never made the that the goal. He started to slump a little bit earlier this season, but has turned it on late. He's batting .322 on the year, which is pretty normal for his LSU career. He sits at 84 hits on the season, and if he doesn't collect another, it will be his lowest season total as a Tiger. But if he stays hot, and the Tigers make a little run, he could set a personal season best in hits. The most he has in a season is 90, which he did in his Sophomore year.
