Yesterday a representative for Mike Tyson confirmed that Jamie Foxx will play the heavy-weight boxer in the biopic-type mini series.

Very little information has been shared detailing the release date, network, or streaming service in which it will be shared. However, according to  KISS 107.3 (our sister station in Tyler), the new biographical series will be titled "Tyson" and is being directed by "Training Day" director Antoine Fuqua and executive produced by Hollywood legend Martin Scorese.

Tyson gave the following statement to USA Today.

I have been looking to tell my story for quite some time,  that not only captures my professional and personal journey but also inspires and entertains.

Jamie Foxx, who won an Oscar for his role as the legendary Ray Charles, has already began training hard and preparing for the role.

Jamie Foxx has really been on his thing! He has a new sitcom that's coming soon to Netflix that's executive produced by his daughter called "Dad, Quit Embarrassing Me"
