A new study has collected data from each of every 50 states to determine which states are the best and worst for raising a family, based on data like education, child care, health, economics, and general family activities and events.
The study named Louisiana as the 8th worst state for raising a family. Louisiana landed at 8th worst for many reasons including Louisiana having the 5th highest infant mortality rates, tied for most violent crimes per capita, 3rd highest divorce rate, and 2nd highest percentage of families living in poverty.
