According to CNN, Facebook was hit with the largest breach in security they have ever seen. 50 million accounts could have been affected.

Apparently the hackers breached security by using "access tokens". Access tokens is what keeps you logged in for long periods of time. I am guilty of staying logged into my work computer, laptop, and my cell phone.

Facebook said in a blog post on Friday that they would reset access tokens when they find affected accounts. Dude... Yesterday I had to login to all of my accounts. I didn't think anything of it until I saw the article from CNN.

If you think that you might have been affected by this data breach there are a few things that you can do. Go into your security settings and log out of all devices, and then change your password. Loging out of your account the normal way will reset your access tokens.

Also you can look out for a special message from Facebook that says "important security update" on the top of your timeline. It will give you a link that will give you more details about the breach.

The scary part is that Facebook doesn't know what they were after or what they were able to find. All they really know is that "passwords and payment information were not compromised", says CNN.
