No one was injured in a house fire in Shreveport's Stoner Hill neighborhood. The blaze started at about 7:30pm at a home in the 3000 block of Waco Street.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found some smoke coming from the roof of the single story home. Firefighters quickly found the blaze and put it out. One person inside the home got out safely.
Investigators says there was moderate damage to the kitchen area. The Red Cross will step in to help the resident who will be staying with family members while the damage is fixed.
The Shreveport Fire Department does provide free smoke detectors which can save your life. If you need one, get in touch with the Fire Prevention Bureau at 318-673-6740.
